Cellular service providers (AT&T, Verizon, etc) have the right to place antennas and equipment on existing telephone poles in the public right-of-way.  With the increases in services, the demand for more capacity and larger, more elaborate equipment has materialized.  The necessity and desire is virtually indisputable.  The question is placement and look.  Would you want one of these sites directly in front of your house with above and below ground equipment?  Next to your children’s school?  NIMBY (not in my backyard) is coming  into play in this heated debate.  Please send us your comments and weigh in on the dialogue.  To get a sense of what these installations look like, click the links to the right.
